Where do I fly into?
Barcelona (BCN) or Reus (REU). Barcelona has way more connections so it will more likely be easier to fly there, but if you can get a flight into Reus (usually from London connections), it is the closer airport.
When should I arrive?
For those flying in / staying in Calafell: Friday, May 31st. Ideally you'd get in at some point during the day so you can check into your accommodation and get ready for the evening.
If you are staying in Barcelona or simply cannot make it before then arriving Saturday morning is also fine. The wedding doesn't start till 4pm so you would have plenty of time.
What is the plan for Friday, May 31st?
We will meet at a restaurant in the Calafell harbour at 7pm for a little pre wedding get together. We'll head to dinner together from there. We will send the exact itinerary a little closer to the time.
Where should I stay?
We are staying in Calafell, Spain. It is in a little beachtown about 50km south of Barcelona. That's also where the after party of the wedding is going to be so we recommend getting a hotel / airbnb there. If you would like help with accommodation we can reserve a room at the Miramar right on the promenade in Calafell.
Of course, you can also get an accommodation in any of the numerous beach towns along the way or in Barcelona for more of a city experience.
Which hotel should I stay at?
The Solimar hotel that we posted under Travel has offered us special rates for anybody booking a stay for a minimum of 2 nights.
The price per person per night is:
44€ (in a double room including breakfast) and
48€ (for an apartment with a kitchen including breakfast)
Children (2-12 years) 50% discount

Tourism tax extra (0,66€ per night for anybody over the age of 17 years).
How do I get to/from La Cucanya?
La Cucanya is a venue in a town called Vilanova i la Geltru. You can taxi / drive all the way directly to the venue which has plenty of parking. Alternatively you can take the train from Calafell or Barcelona to the stop Vilanova and then taxi from there (around 10 minutes).
After the dinner we will organise a party bus back to Calafell for those of you joining us for the after party.
What will the weather be like?
June in Spain baby! The most accommodating summer weather of them all. It's warm, humid, and much better than July or August. Pack your tank tops and party shorts. It ranges from 20°C-27°C (68°F-80°F) and since it's next to the sea, the breeze will alleviate your sweat and get you ready for the festivities. Please drink (water) responsibly.
How do I get from BCN airport to Calafell - 1) by car?
By car, it will take roughly 45 minutes.
You can either rent a car or take a taxi.
Renting a car is one of the easiest options if you plan on exploring a little bit while you're here and you don't have to worry about parking as there is plenty available in Calafell.
-Taxi or Cabify; There are plenty of taxis at both terminals and you can just get one. Especially if you are arriving around the same time as somebody else this might make the most sense but it's a little on the spendy side, costing around €150,--
There is no uber but you can order a taxi through the app cabify if you have a Spanish phone number. Otherwise you can also pre-order a taxi online.
How do I get from Barcelona airport to Calafell - 2) by public transport?
By public transport it will take roughly 1.30h-2h.
The route will depend on the terminal you're at. If you are unsure use google maps, it works pretty well out there. Just in case we will list the best ways:
From T1 (which is the main one for all the major airlines) you can take the bus L99 to "Rambla Estacio" in a town called Gava. There you will switch to the train R2S (R2 Sud) direction St. Vicenc de Calders, and getting off at the stop " Calafell". Don't get off at the stop "Segur de Calafell", that's too early, it's the one after just called "Calafell".
From T2 (which is the smaller terminal where all the budget airlines land, e.g Ryanair, Wizzair, Eurowings) take the train to Barcelona Sants. There you switch to the R2S (R2 Sud) direction St. Vicenc de Calders, and getting off at the stop " Calafell".
In Barcelona Sants the airport trains usually arrive on platform 11 / 12 and our R2S train to Calafell usually leaves from platform 9 / 10.
Don't get off at the stop "Segur de Calafell", that's too early, it's the one after just called "Calafell".
How do I get from Barcelona city to Calafell?
You just take the 50 minute train R2S (Sud) heading to St. Vicenc de Calders from any of the following stops: Barcelona Estacio de Franca (usually leaving around 17 and 47 past), Barcelona Passeig de Gracia (usually leaving at 28 and 58 past), Barcelona Sants (usually leaving at 06 and 36 past).
Our stop is called Calafell. Don't get off at the stop "Segur de Calafell", that's too early, it's the one after just called "Calafell".
Again, google maps is your friend.
